So, What is Spravato®?
SPRAVATO® (esketamine) CIII Nasal Spray is indicated, in conjunction with an oral antidepressant, for the treatment
of treatment-resistant depression (TRD) in adults or for depressive symptoms in adults with major depressive disorder (MDD) with acute suicidal ideation or
behavior.
What to Expect During Your Treatment
During treatments, patients can experience sedation or dissociation (generally described as dissociative or perceptual changes). These effects generally resolve within two hours of administration. For this reason, this treatment is administered in-office and requires the patient to remain in office under a qualified healthcare provider’s supervision for a minimum of two hours. Studies have shown that patients can experience depression relief within hours of administering the medication, as soon as the first treatment.
Treatment Schedule
A typical treatment schedule involves attending two treatments each week for four weeks, followed by one treatment each week for four weeks. After this course of treatment, follow up treatments can be discussed with your provider.
